FAQ

WHAT COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS WILL BE IN PLACE for gray duck grit?

Gray Duck Grit (GDG) will be following all guidelines and protocols set forth by the Minnesota Dept of Health (MDH). As conditions change for our region of the state, GDG will abide by all COVID-19 guidelines MDH issues for large outdoor event gatherings to ensure the safety of our participants, crew support, staff, and volunteers. Click here for more detailed info from MDH’s website.

GDG wants to thank you in advance for your cooperation to keep our community safe!

Will we get the routes before the day of the race and where can we download them?

GPX are currently available through the “Courses” tab of our website menu. Cue sheets will be available for the 222 & 333 mi cyclists ONLY. Cue sheets will be available for pick up at check-in for these cyclists.

I DO NOT HAVE A SUPPORT CREW. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

For the 222 & 333 mi routes, we are going to have staffed checkpoints approximately every 50-60 miles. We will have water, single serving packs of NOM, Kodiak protein balls available along with other nutrition options. Please also be sure to check in when arriving at the checkpoint.

The 111 mi route will have three staffed checkpoints along the route available for cyclists to stop. We will have water, single serving packs of NOM, Kodiak protein balls available along with other nutrition options. You are not required to stop at any of the checkpoints.

The 69 mi will have one staffed checkpoint halfway along the route for cyclists to stop if they choose to. We will have water, single serving packs of NOM, Kodiak protein balls available along with other nutrition options. You are not required to stop at the checkpoint.

The 50 mi route will have one non-staffed checkpoint halfway along the route for cyclists to stop. Coolers will be located there with refreshments available. Take what you need, but please keep in mind how many are behind you still to come through so be sure to leave enough for others. You are not required to stop at the checkpoint.

No matter, each participant is responsible for themselves and should make sure they have with them all the tools, gear, and nutrition they will need for the event. For those with dietary restrictions, please plan accordingly.

WHEN IS participant check-in?

Participants will be required to show a photo ID at check-in. To allow yourself enough preparation time and rest before the start of your race, we recommend participants check in as early as possible prior to the start of their ride.
